PROGRAM / ITINERARY:

Day 1: Depending on the location of your hotel we shall pick you between 7.30am and 8.30am. Then at 9.30am Be at the Wilson airport for check in for your flight that departs at 10.30am to arrive masai mara at 11.20am. Transfer to the lodge for check in and lunch. 4pm embark on an afternoon game drive return for dinner and overnight. Overnight stay at Mara Serena Safari Lodge

Day 2: March. 6.30am early morning game drive return to the lodge for breakfast. Relax at the lodge. Have lunch. 4pm embark on an afternoon game viewing drive return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight stay Mara Serena Safari Lodge

Day 3: 6.30am early morning game drive return to the lodge for breakfast. Relax at the lodge. 11.20am transfer to the airstrip for your return flight to Nairobi at 12pm to arrive Nairobi at 12.50pm. Met and transfer to your hotel or to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

Program: 

Day 1 Pick up from your Nairobi Hotel at 8am or Airport and depart to the Amboseli National park. Afternoon game viewing drive. Stay at Amboseli Serena Lodge 

Day 3 : After breakfast depart for the Mount Kenya Region and into the Sweetwaters Tented Camp. You will be tired thus you have to restDay 4. Morning game drive and breakfast then leave for the Shaba National Reserve arriving late evening

Day 4  Two game viewing drives and full board at Samburu or Shaba National reserve with four game viewing drives.

Day 5: Breakfast and drive back to nairobi to arrive in the early afternoon

Camel Derby Fans Safari to Maralal, Kenya

We started taking people to the Camel Derby in 2013, travel with the people who know the journey. Review from our trip advisor clients Maralal Camel Derby fun! : Reviewed September 10, 2013: Traveled with Cruzeiro Safaris to the 

Maralal Camel Derby on 30 August - 1September.The event was amazing and I would recommend it to everyone. There was an amazing mix of local culture with Camel racing. Be warned you need gloves and good shoes if you are going to ride the camel (it hurts!) but great fun.Cruzeiro Safaris were excellent, they arranged everything and although the journey was very long (approx 10 hour drive from Nairobi) it was worth it. Accommodation was basic in tents (but what we had expected and paid for) and the food was good. I also had to cancel a few people from our group at late notice and they were very understanding.I would recommend others to use them if planning a trip in Kenya.Visited August 2013

 The Program / Itinerary

Friday 26^th August.

0630 hrs - Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive northwards to Nyahururu  for lunch then proceed to Maralal in the evening.  Transit time 11hours. 

The journey from Nairobi to Maralal is a long and bumpy one and windy please carry warm jackets.

1600 hrs - Arrival of participants and registration of entrants at the Secretariat desk. Orientation on camels, rules and routes. Meeting of Amateur riders.

1900 hrs – Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Saturday 27 ^th August.

0700 hrs – Breakfast

0800 hrs – Continued registration (other races except Amateur)

0900 hrs – Briefing of Amateur Camel entrants and handlers at briefing point.

0930 hrs – Amateur riders and handlers assemble and prepare at the starting point at main road.

1100 hrs – Flag off amateur camel race. All participants must wear official numbers.

1130 hrs – Flag off kids bike race.

1230 hrs – Lunch

1400 hrs – Entertainment / traditional dances. Triathlon team and individuals preparing camels and bikes at starting point

1430 hrs – Flag off individual triathlon race

1530 hrs – Flag off disabled / special needs race

(1400 – 1630 hrs – entertainment for all and social evenings for the organizers, families, friends and guests)

1900 hrs: Dinner

                Samburu cultural nite show. Traditional foods, attire, ornaments and age groups.

Sunday 28^th August

0700 hrs – Breakfast.

0800hrs  - Leave for Nairobi and you will carry picnic lunches to arrive nairobi in the late evening . Transit time 11hours. 

Cost is USD220 or Kshs.22,000 per person in  2 man -sharing tent.

DAY 4: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Spend the full day in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game viewing drives in open vehicles.

One can opt for guided bush walks, bush meals, night game drive and cultural visits to a Masai village and interact with them.

Option also for a balloon ride to view the wildlife from a bird’s perspective – the cost is separate at USD480 per adult and Child at USD300

DAY 5: MASAI MARA TO NAIROBI

Breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi (flight time is 1 – 1.5hours) Arrive Nairobi and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Stay At: Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi (Meal Plan: Breakfast)

DAY 6: NAIROBI EXCURSIONS

Breakfast. You have 4 options:  (please select only one option)

Option 1: Day at leisure / at 6pm pick from hotel to be entertained by the Safari Cat Dancers show and have dinner as well. After dinner return to the hotel (Meal Plan: Breakfast and Dinner)

Option 2:  10am Visit to the Nairobi National Museum, Giraffe center, Tamarind Restaurant Lunch, Karen Blixen Museum return to the hotel. Later at 6pm pick from hotel to be entertained by the Safari Cat Dancers show and have dinner as well. After dinner return to the hotel (Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Option 3: 7am depart to the Lake Naivasha for a tour to the crescent island, boat ride, joy and Richard Adamson museum with lunch then come back to Nairobi in time to be entertained by the Safari Cat Dancers show and have dinner as well. After dinner return to the hotel (Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Option 4: Nairobi Full Day Tour: Visit the Nairobi National Park, Giraffe Center, Lunch at Carnivore and Karen Blixen Museum. Return to the Hotel to freshen up then leave to be entertained by the Safari Cat Dancers show and have dinner as well. After dinner return to the hotel (Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Stay At: Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi (Specified for each option)

Day 7: Breakfast, Day at leisure or last minute shopping. Later transfer to the Airport for your onward flight. (Meal Plan: Breakfast)
