Lake Turkana commonly known as .
' The Cradle of mankind'

Lake Turkana lies 800 kms from Nairobi the sibiloi national park lies on the northeastern shore of Lake Turkana in northern Kenya. The semi desert ecosystem was established to protect wildlife and the unique prehistoric and archaeological sites some of which are linked to the origin of man.

The park is waterless except for the alkaline waters of the lake; it however harbours variety of wildlife including common zebra, giraffe, hippos, crocodile and numerous bird species such as flamingos, pelicans and ducks.  Other attractions are the preserved wildlife fossils which include the Giant Tortoise and the 18-20 ft long Crocodile.

OPTION 1:  Lake Turkana  Package By Road 3 nights / 4 days  from Nairobi

Main Conditions: You join in other people to a maximum of 6 persons per vehicle; Very basic accommodations: Suitbale for activity based travel community. {You can travel exclusively if you are 6 people }

OPTION 2: Lake Turkana Package 2nights / 3 days with flights Included from Nairobi

Three (3) days Package as follows:
Day 1: 1425hrs Fly from Nairobi to arrive  Lodwar near Turkana at 1625hrs. On arrival,  met and transfer to the resort  in 4x4 wheel drives. Arrive for dinner. Overnight at the resort. Dinner included.
Day 2: Breakfast. embark on days activities, have lunch and dinner at the resort  or carry picnic lunch if going for a whole day excursion.Overnight at the resort.
Day 3: Breakfast. just relax  and then transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi at 1100hrs to arrive Nairobi at 1340hrs.

Cost
Per person sharing USD920; Extra night USD185 per person sharing
Per single room USD1150; Extra night USD195 per person sharing.

Cost does include: 2 nights (1st night half board  and 2nd night full board),  return transfers from resort to  Lodwar in 4x4 wheel drives, return flights from Nairobi to Lodwar - taxes included.
Cost does not include: travel insurance which can be bought at USD15 per person, any acivities (boat rides, kite surfing, fishing, fees for  visiting the park.

Visit of Central Island National Park
Be prepared for a hot time; a hat and sun cream is a must as well as trousers and long sleeve shirt if you have delicate skin. Carry enough drinking water with you(is provided and included with the speed boat).
Speedboat: max 4 people, Ksh 18000.-
Big boat: max 15 people, Ksh 16000.-*
Small boat: max 8 people, Ksh 15000.-*
National Park entrance fee: Residents Ksh 500.-, Non residents Ksh 1300.-

Boat rides
Speedboat: max 4 people, 1/2 hour Ksh 2500.-, 1 hour Ksh 4000.-
Fishing boat: max 4 people, 1/2 hour Ksh 1600.-, 1 hour Ksh 3000.-
Boat(Youth group): max 15 people, 1/2 hour Ksh 2000.-, 1 hour Ksh 3500.-*

* The boats from the Youth group are operated under their own management. We dont take any responsibility and neither does the resort.

Fishing
Speedboat: Fishing equipment included, approximately 3-4 hours Ksh 15000.-
Speedboat: Fishing near Central Island, 3-4 hours Ksh 20000.-(fishing licence included)
Fishing boat: Fishing trip including equipment, 1-2 hours, Ksh 5000.-

Turkana Sundowner
Sundowner on the Lake,sparkling wine,juice and bites, ca 5.30 - 6.30 pm, Ksh 1200.- per person

Swedish massage
Full body masage in our open-air "massage saloon", ca 1 hour, Ksh 1500.-

Exercise with the Swiss Gymnastic ball
In every Boma you find the gymnasic ball together with instructions. Feel free to relax your body through the exercises with the ball.

Visit traditional Turkana Boma
Drive to a nearby Turkana Boma, visit local manyattas, ca 1 hour. Ksh 5000.- (Ksh 3000.- with own car)

Traditional Dancers
Entertainment with a group of traditional Turkana dancers, starting around 6 pm, Ksh 5000.-

Visit local market
Assist the community through the purchase of traditional handcraft items.
