Make the most of a single day in Nairobi with a perfectly paced itinerary that combines
big-game viewing inside Nairobi National Park, a heart-warming visit to the
David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage, hand-feeding at the
Giraffe Centre, and a step back in time at the Karen Blixen Museum—
capped with a legendary Carnivore Restaurant lunch.

Itinerary Breakdown

6:00 AM – Pick-Up & Transfer

• Meet your guide at your hotel, residence, or JKIA arrivals.
• Board a comfortable Land Cruiser (pop-up roof) or safari minivan.

6:30–9:30 AM – Nairobi National Park Game Drive

• Three hours of prime game viewing with city skyline vistas.
• Look for lions, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, ostriches, and more.

11:00 AM – David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage

• Public viewing hour (11:00–12:00 only): watch bottle-feeding and playful mud baths.
• Learn about rescue stories and rewilding efforts from the keepers.

12:30 PM – Lunch at Carnivore Restaurant

• Feast on a classic African barbecue buffet with salads and desserts.
• Note: Drinks are payable separately.

2:00 PM – Giraffe Centre

• Hand-feed endangered Rothschild’s giraffes from the raised platform.
• Browse the conservation exhibit and gift shop.

3:30 PM – Karen Blixen Museum

• Tour the author’s former farmhouse (“Out of Africa”) and gardens.
• Hear stories from Nairobi’s early colonial era.

~6:00 PM – Drop-Off

• Return transfer to your hotel/residence or JKIA for onward flights.

• Sheldrick is capacity-controlled: the public session is 11:00–12:00 only and must be reserved in advance. If tickets are sold out, we’ll propose an alternative stop or re-sequence the day.
• ID required: carry your passport or valid photo ID for park entry verification.
• What to wear/bring: comfortable closed shoes, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, reusable water bottle, camera/binoculars.
• Plastic ban: single-use plastic carrier bags are prohibited in parks; please avoid bringing them.
• Solo travellers: check scheduled departures on the main website before booking—no refunds if no group is available to join.
• Flow may vary: order and timing can change due to traffic, weather, or attraction capacity—your guide will optimise the day.
