Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to the Masai Mara – Afternoon Game Drive

Your private safari begins with an early-morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel,
residence or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The recommended departure time is
between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM, depending on your pickup location and prevailing road
conditions.

Leave Nairobi and travel towards the Great Rift Valley. A short stop may be made at
a suitable viewpoint, weather and traffic permitting, where you can enjoy views of
the escarpment and the broad Rift Valley landscape.

Continue through the Kenyan countryside and the town of Narok before proceeding to
the Masai Mara. You will normally arrive at your camp or lodge around lunchtime,
depending on traffic and road conditions. Check in, enjoy lunch and have time to
relax before the afternoon game drive.

Later in the afternoon, enter the Masai Mara National Reserve for your first private
game drive. The Mara’s open grasslands support lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes,
zebras, wildebeest, topis, impalas, gazelles and numerous bird species. Your guide
will use current wildlife reports and tracking experience to select productive
viewing areas.

Predators are often more active as the temperature begins to fall. Depending on

Day 2: Full-Day Private Masai Mara Game Drive

After an early breakfast, depart with a packed picnic lunch for an extended private
game drive across the Masai Mara. Starting early provides an opportunity to observe
wildlife during the cooler morning hours, when predators and herbivores are often
most active.

Your driver-guide will plan the day according to seasonal wildlife movements,
recent sightings and your interests. Because the vehicle is reserved exclusively
for your party, you can spend more time at sightings, concentrate on photography or
request a slower and more relaxed safari pace.

The Masai Mara is one of Kenya’s most important wildlife areas and is known for its
large predator population. Animals that may be encountered include lions, elephants,
buffaloes, cheetahs, leopards, spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals, giraffes,
wildebeest, zebras, warthogs, elands, topis, hartebeests, impalas and Thomson’s and
Grant’s gazelles.

Black rhinos are present in the greater Masai Mara ecosystem but are less frequently
encountered. Hippos and Nile crocodiles may be seen around the Mara and Talek rivers,

Day 3: Masai Mara to Nairobi

Enjoy breakfast at the camp or lodge before checking out and beginning the private
return journey to Nairobi.

Unless specifically included and confirmed at booking, an additional morning game
drive is not scheduled on the final day. This allows sufficient time for the journey
to Nairobi and helps avoid late arrival caused by traffic or changing road conditions.

Travel through Narok and continue towards Nairobi, with comfort stops made along the
way when required. Arrival in Nairobi is generally expected during the late afternoon
or early evening, depending on traffic, weather and your final drop-off location.

You will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel, residence or Jomo Kenyatta
International Airport. Guests flying on the same day should provide their flight
details before booking so that sufficient travelling and check-in time can be
