What to Expect
Your excursion begins with pickup from your hotel or an agreed location in Fumba or Mangapwani. The final pickup time will be confirmed after booking.
Travel to Jozani Forest, one of Zanzibar’s most important natural areas. Explore the designated visitor trails with a guide while learning about the forest ecosystem and looking for wildlife, including the Zanzibar red colobus monkey.
Continue to Maalum Cave, a peaceful natural attraction surrounded by tropical vegetation. Explore the cave setting and, if you wish, swim in its clear natural pool. Swimming is optional and subject to venue conditions and safety regulations.
The tour then continues to The Rock Restaurant near Michamvi Pingwe. Enjoy the coastal scenery, take photographs and, if a reservation has been confirmed, stop for a meal or refreshments at your own expense.
After completing the excursion, meet your driver for the return transfer to Fumba or Mangapwani.
Explore Jozani Forest
Jozani Forest is known for its tropical vegetation and as a habitat of the endemic Zanzibar red colobus monkey. A guided walk provides an opportunity to learn about the forest, its wildlife and the importance of protecting Zanzibar’s natural environment.
Wild animals move freely within their habitat, so sightings and proximity cannot be guaranteed. Visitors should remain on designated paths and follow the instructions of the forest guide.

Maalum Cave features a natural pool beneath limestone formations in a tranquil tropical setting. Visitors can enjoy the surroundings and may swim when access and conditions permit.
Guests who choose to enter the water should be comfortable swimming and must observe all instructions from the guide and venue staff.
Visit The Rock Restaurant
The Rock Restaurant sits just offshore at Michamvi Pingwe and is one of Zanzibar’s most photographed landmarks. Depending on the tide, access may be on foot through shallow water or by a short boat transfer arranged locally.
Meals and drinks are not included unless specifically stated in the booking confirmation. Cruzeiro Safaris can request a restaurant reservation, but seating remains subject to confirmation by the restaurant.
