There's more to Mombasa than the city. Out in the water, Indian Ocean other citizens live: Dolphins! Take a day to sail the seas around Mombasa, looking for dolphins, and maybe even swim with them! As you motor your way along the Shimoni channel, you will have the chance to snap pictures of the gorgeous landscape and stop in the marine reserve of Kisite. Keep your eyes peeled as you motor along the shores in search of dolphin pods, sometimes numbering up to 150 individuals.
Even if there are no dolphins out today, there is still the chance to enjoy some great snorkeling, which is filled with colorful reefs and plentiful fish. After snorkeling, you head over to Mpunguti Wa Chini, where there is a chance for a Swahili lunch of fish, rice, chapatis, kachumbari, and coconut sauce. After lunch, cool off again in the refreshing waters.
Finally, you will sail back to Shimoni, with many more chances to spot the dolphins or Indo-Pacific Humpbacks. It's an incredible day of natural beauty, and a perfect trip for the whole family.
